PRAYER

Just like any relationship, it's important to make it a priority to take time to quiet the world and connect with the Lord. Does first thing in the morning work for you? Maybe on your drive to or from work? When your kids are napping? Maybe it's in the quiet of the evening after a busy day. We want to pick a time where we can really give God our best and our full attention so choose what works for you.

If you're finding it hard to carve out time in your schedule, it may be a sign to take a serious audit of what we're prioritizing above time with the Lord. If we don't take charge of our schedules, our schedules will take charge of us, so let's try our best to prioritize at least 15-30 minutes a day to pray and talk with God.

Pick the Place

Whether it's in the car, on a park bench, in a prayer closet or cuddled up on the couch, there's no right or wrong place to meet with God! When selecting a place of prayer, we want to intentionally choose a place that you can find peace and minimize distractions. This place will pose as a sacred spot for us to encounter God's presence and offer our time and attention to Him.

Pick Your Posture

Try to think through how you feel most comfortable praying. Maybe it's by pacing? Kneeling? Standing or lying down? Maybe it's by talking out loud to God or quietly allowing the whispers of our soul to reach the Lord's heart, He is excited to hear from you!

Pick Your Prayer Language

God isn't looking for the most articulate words or fancy phrases, He wants to know what's really on your heart. We encourage you to talk to the Lord as you would talk to a friend! Conversation flows freely when we truly trust that God is listening and know that no topic is off limits. But if you're at a loss for words, we've got you covered.

You can start by using the pre-written prayers for the subjects that we feel led to pray for as a church. They will be available daily on our social media and on our app to follow along with, pray out loud word-for-word or to lift up in your own words.

Invite in the Presence of God

Once we've picked the time, location, posture and what to pray, invite the Lord to come meet you exactly where you are! His heart is overjoyed that you'd want to meet with Him and not just pray to get anything from Him, but to get to know Him.
