Friday: Go Out & Get Inspired

When was the last time you just walked outside and took in all of God’s creation? What did you hear? What did you see? What did you smell?
So often, we rush from one thing to the next that we miss the beauty God has placed all around us. Yet creation has a way of slowing us down and reminding us of who He is.
Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.
Every sunrise, every tree, every bird singing, every breeze, and every mountain points us back to our Creator.
God created the heavens and the earth and everything in it.
As you read through Genesis 1-2 you see that God created everything and he saw that it was good.
What if we slowed down enough to notice it?
What if we intentionally praised God for the beauty He has placed around us?
Do you have a spot that you typically go to that you hear from the Lord? A place that is quiet. Where you can sit and just spend time with God. A place where you feel God’s closeness.
Throughout Scripture, Jesus often withdrew to quiet places to spend time with His heavenly Father. Sometimes He climbed a mountainside. Other times He prayed in a garden or found a solitary place away from the crowds. Jesus knew the importance of stepping away from the noise to be with God.
Do you have a place like that?
Maybe it's a porch with a cup of coffee, a hiking trail, a park bench, a swing in your backyard, a quiet lake, or simply a chair under a tree.
This weekend, make it a priority to go there. Leave your distractions behind. Sit quietly. Listen. Observe. Worship.
Let God's creation remind you of His greatness and His nearness.

Father,
Thank You for today. Thank You for the incredible beauty of Your creation. Every detail reminds us of Your power, Your creativity, and Your love for us.
Help us slow down long enough to notice what You've made. Open our eyes to see Your goodness all around us. Lead us to a quiet place where we can meet with You, hear Your voice, and grow closer to You. Teach us to be still in Your presence and to find joy in simply being with You. Thank You for always meeting us where we are and inviting us into a deeper relationship with You. We love you. In Jesus' name,
