Oftentimes, our calling begins with a wave of excitement and urgency to see its fulfillment, however, it’s common for the initial excitement to become overshadowed by self doubt and a daunting list of ways we could fall short. Knowing this, we are given the opportunity to arm ourselves against the threats that loom when we cling to doubt. If we hold to God’s promises and walk in obedient surrender with Him, we can confidently make strides toward the Lord’s vision without falling prey to crippling self doubt or the borrowed doubt others may inadvertently try to place upon us.
First, let’s look at our own mindset and tendency to doubt ourselves. We can fall into “imposter syndrome” because we feel unqualified and think God’s vision coming to fruition is dependent upon our strength and abilities. When partnering with God, “Imposter Syndrome” is nothing more than an easily defeated distraction! To defeat doubt, we can choose to surrender the weight of our God given visions to the Lord and keep our focus on being humble and joyfully obedient to our Father. After all, if we could achieve our callings on our own, where would there be room for God’s glory, the growth of our faith, and the power of our testimony be for others? The next costly snare to watch for doesn’t come from our doubts but from the doubts of others.
1 Corinthians 2:14 shares wisdom regarding this when it says, “The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit."
Having a good community to share our visions with is crucial and can help keep us encouraged in the Lord! We just have to recognize some people will not be able to understand our big, unseen, miraculous goals and may speak their doubts over our dreams. Sometimes, even those who do know the Lord, but are still working through a fleshly struggle with doubt, may try to cover us with their reservations. Knowing who we should share Godly visions with and who we should share limited information takes discernment. By keeping our eyes on God and walking in the power of the Holy Spirit, we can build our defenses and refuse to trade our confidence in God’s plan for discouragement and disbelief.
Be bold in your vision and faithful in your calling. Surely, God will do just as He has spoken. I encourage you to pray this prayer as you prepare to launch toward your Godly vision:

Dear God,
Thank You for choosing me. You are a good, faithful, loving God who has chosen to make my heart Your dwelling place. I submit back to You the vision You have given me. Thank You that I get to witness You work this miracle through me. Train me and raise me to do this task faithfully. Lord, in my own strength I cannot bring this about, but I boldly thank You because Your power is made perfect in my weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). May Your will be done, and may my heart be fertile soil for every seed, vision, dream, and goal You plant. All that I have, all that I am, and all that I will be, I surrender to you. It’s in Your Son, Jesus’ Name I pray,
